Pay Per Click is an excellent way to promote a website, not only can you choose a target market, select suitable keywords and set a budget - you can also design your own advert. Unfortunately, the designing of the advert is often given less attention than the budget or keywords.
In this blog we take a look at "Ugly" adverts and discuss how they can improve your ROI (Return on Investment).

The "Attractive" advert above will generate a lot more clicks than the one below, however, the ROI will be a lot lower. With the "Attractive" advert anyone that is after a website would be tempted to click on the advert. This might seem a good thing, however, in reality it generates lot of visitors of which only a small percentage are potentially profitable customers. There will be a lot of visitors with tiny budgets and people from all over the country who will be difficult to work with due to their location. In short you will be paying for lots of clicks from which only a select few are worth paying for.

The "Ugly" advert above will generate less clicks than the "Attractive" advert. The plus side to this is you will only end up paying for clicks that bring in customers with a budget of £2000+ that are likely to be from the Kent area. By putting a cost and location in the advert it helps eliminate people with smaller budgets and unpractical locations without having to pay for their click first.
